Volunteering

Our volunteer programme is currently funded by the National Lottery's Big Lottery Fund for Reaching Communities. The aim of the programme is to provide supported opportunities for service users, both locally and across London, to become involved in advocacy work.

We provide a regular drop-in session at Marlborough Hill Resource Centre in Harrow, and volunteers have the opportunity to get involved in all areas of our work, including working on our Older Peoples' Project, on our Pathways Project, and in advocacy, in both inpatient and community environments.

Volunteers are offered an eight-day training course over eight weeks and, following the course, they will have the opportunity to work closely with a member of staff who shadows them and observes how they work with clients. Each individual volunteer has a personal development plan which is updated regularly, and volunteers are offered supervision on a regular basis.

Many of our volunteers have gone on to employment in this sector.
