Chris George: Director
Chris joined Loud and Clear in January 2004. He has managed a number of projects working with vulnerable people for over twelve years and has a Diploma in Voluntary Sector Management from the Centre for Charity Effectiveness at City University Business School. Chris has written regularly on mental health issues for a range of journals and websites, and teaches on the Management and IMHA modules of the National Advocacy Qualification. Chris is a trustee of Brent Mind, and has been a member of the CSCI Mental Health Improvement Board and a member of the CSIP Expert Reference Group on Advocacy. He is currently studying for an MA in Health Care Law at the University of Salford Law School.
Geoff Smith: Advocate
Geoff Smith has worked at Loud and Clear since January 2008. He manages an extensive portfolio of casework in the London Borough of Brent, at the Park Royal Centre for Mental Health and within the community. Significant recent cases have involved a challenge to an application to the Court of Protection regarding a client's alleged lack of capacity, assisting a client who is appealing an asylum decision in order to access a community care assessment, and supporting a client to access direct payments.
Before joining Loud and Clear, Geoff worked with vulnerable young adults in supported housing, having previously worked as a Senior Youth and Community Development Advocate, and been an advisor for the Citizens Advice Bureau.
Jeanette Hau: Advocate
Jeanette Hau has led Loud and Clear's work with Older People since March 2007, facilitating positive improvements in the experience of patients on Ellington Ward, Northwick Park, and Mary Seacole Ward at Park Royal. Her casework has included complaints, continuing care appeals and work concerning enduring powers of attorney. She has previously worked extensively in social work and psychotherapy. Academic interests include an MSc in Psychotherapy and Jeanette is currently studying Gerontology at Birkbeck College.
Tony McHale: Advocacy Casework Manager
Tony McHale is an experienced advocate and has led Loud and Clear's advocacy work in Harrow since April 2007. Tony specialises in working in hospital settings and the community. His work is highly regarded for its personalised and sensitive support, and taking a practical approach to helping clients resolve their difficulties
Mike Loosley: User Involvement Co-ordinator
Mike has been working in user involvement and development since 1994 in four different London boroughs. He came to this work through personal experience of mental health problems. Mike currently runs the mental health user involvement project in Ealing
Sabrina Soloman - Mental Health Advocate
Sabrina Solomon recently started work as an IMHA (Independent Mental Health Advocate) at Loud and Clear. She joined through the volunteer programme, and volunteered at the organisation for several months before she took on her new role. Sabrina currently works with patients at the Park Royal Centre for Mental Health and supports them in accessing services, appealing sections, making complaints about their care or treatment and ensuring that their voice is heard.
Sue Bruno - Mental Health Advocate
Sue joined Loud and Clear in September 2009 as part of the new IMHA team. She is one of three IMHA's who work with sectioned patients on the wards at Park Royal hospital. Prior to becoming a paid member of staff, Sue was a volunteer with Loud and Clear, working with Suzanne in the community. Sue has worked extensively in the health service both in general medicine and mental health. She was for many years a Mental Health Act Administrator in West and North West London.
Tim Green - Mental Health Advocate
Tim has been a Loud and Clear advocate since July 2009. He was previously a volunteer advocate since 2007. He is currently implementing the IMHA service in Harrow, and working with inpatients on Fernley and Eastlake wards at Northwick Park Hospital.
Margaret Mannion: Office Manager
Margaret joined Loud and Clear's busy office as office manager in 2008. She has worked for several years in the voluntary sector as an administrator.
Sian Phillips: Volunteer Involvement Manager
Sian has worked at Loud and Clear for three years as an advocate and a volunteer involvement manager. She has lengthy experience of user involvement work and specialises in designing training programmes for service users. She has a City and Guilds 7302 Certificate in Delivering Learning.
Suzanne Collins: Advocate
Suzanne has worked at Loud and Clear for four years as an advocate and has lengthy experience of user involvement. She is currently the co-chair of the User Reference Group at the London Development Centre for Mental Health and a visiting lecturer at Middlesex University, teaching a user involvement module to student nurses.
