Advocacy for Older People
The needs of older mental patients have often been neglected. Funded by Comic Relief, Advocacy for Older People gives this client group a much-needed voice within Harrow and Brent. Since the project began, we've been working towards improving in-patient services, and offering ongoing support to our older clients who live out in the community.
Since we set up fortnightly community meetings on Ellington Ward at Northwick Park hospital, patients have told us they noticed a marked improvement in communications with ward staff.
This year we're extending our work in the community, and are in the process of locating funding so that we can continue to look after our older clients beyond 2010.
